Sarah Darcel sixth in World Short-Course
Nice article by Cleve Dheensaw in today’s Times Colonist on Claremont Secondary’s grade 12 student Sarah Darcel’s sixth place finish at the Swimming Short-Course World Championships. I photographed Sarah last November for CBC prior to the Rio Olympics when Sarah was a member of the CSI Pacific NextGen Program training at the Saanich Commonwealth Pool. I saw the fire in her eyes at the pool and in the gym and happy to see her breaking onto the world stage and onto a very competitive Canadian swim team. Sarah also joins am impressive list of former Claremont student athletes Rich Harden, Ryan Cochrane, Paul Gait, Gary Gait, Iain Brambell, Fred Winters, Mingo Miguel, Tony Theriault, Kyle Greentree, Lindsay Jennerich and Sarah Kaufman.
