Victoria Royals – Pink in the Rink 2017
Last night was the annual Victoria Royals Pink in the Rink night in support of the BC Cancer Foundation, and before a sell-out crowd of 7,006 fans the Royals did not disappoint beating the Vancouver Giants 3-1.
Deanna Young, an 11-year breast-cancer survivor and five-season billet mom of Royals captain Ryan Gagnon, dropped the ceremonial puck. Following the game, after his jersey was auctioned off Gagnon made his way down the hallway and stopped and shared a hug with Deanna. Her reaction to whatever he said is one of the most emotional moments I have witnessed at any sporting event.
